dublin diaries

Sick the whole week, I spend my time planning and booking family travel, studying less than necessary, re-exploring yoga, crafting with clay, and listening to a lot of Jeff Buckley and Wunderhorse. I prepare to say goodbye to many of my exchange friends whose semesters abroad are coming to an end.

My parents come to town just as my FINAL final exam wraps its long, creepy fingers around me. I make it out alive and spend the week feeling like a tourist while exploring new parts of Dublin, then Cork. Happy Holidays!

The camera comes out way more this week. My family and I visit Brussels, Bruges, Cologne and Heidelberg, where my Dad's dad was born. A lot of the trip is made up as we go but we manage just fine. Happy New Year's Eve!

The new year begins in Heidelberg with a bit of local exploration. A quick trip to Paris before the trip ends brings new sights and cultures. Both cities feel comfortable to me now, but Dublin is where I want to be most of all, and where I find myself when the week ends. I start a new book and revisit an old favourite show on Netflix.

I attend my first live music event as a freelance music photographer, shooting 21 different bands and musicians over two nights. I schedule my first payed gig shortly after! This week, I meet many cool people, gain photography advice, and return to my favourite live jazz bar after a long break.
